The TYWZ2-200 is a normally open brake from the TYWZ2 series of foot-operated hydraulic drum brakes. It has a braking torque range of 0–200 N·m and is compatible with 200 mm specification brake drums. Its working principle revolves around converting braking force through hydraulic transmission, with applications focusing on braking scenarios of small and medium-sized industrial equipment such as hoisting machinery and winches. Working Principle
This brake is controlled by a foot-operated hydraulic pump, equipped with structures such as an interlocking equal-clearance device and self-lubricating bearings. It completes braking and release through hydraulic propulsion and spring reset, with the specific process as follows:
1. Braking Execution
When the operator depresses the matching foot-operated hydraulic pump, the hydraulic oil in the hydraulic system is pressurized, and the pressure is quickly transmitted to the wheel cylinder through the pipeline. The piston in the wheel cylinder moves outward under the action of hydraulic force, pushing the brake shoes on both sides to open outward around the fixed fulcrum. At this time, the asbestos-free friction linings on the brake shoes closely fit the inner wall of the brake drum (which rotates synchronously with the equipment shaft). Friction generates a friction torque that resists the rotation of the brake drum, thereby driving the equipment shaft to decelerate and ultimately achieving stopping braking. Meanwhile, the equipped equal-clearance device ensures uniform gaps between the brake shoes on both sides and the brake drum, avoiding the impact on braking effect caused by the lining floating and adhering to one side of the brake drum.
2. Brake Release
When the operator releases the foot pump, the pressure in the hydraulic system drops rapidly and is relieved. The return spring in the wheel cylinder starts to work, pulling the piston back to its original position and driving the brake shoes on both sides to contract inward, making the friction linings completely separate from the brake drum. At this point, the brake drum is no longer constrained by frictional resistance and can rotate freely with the equipment shaft. The braking state is released, and the equipment can operate normally.
3. Auxiliary Guarantee Design
All main hinge points of the brake are equipped with self-lubricating bearings, eliminating the need for frequent additional lubrication. This not only reduces component wear but also ensures the smoothness of braking actions and extends the service life of the equipment. Additionally, the friction linings adopt a clip-in insertion design, allowing quick disassembly and replacement after wear, which reduces equipment downtime for maintenance.
Application Scenarios
As a mechanical brake independent of power supply, this brake features stable braking and accurate positioning, adapting to the deceleration and braking needs of various small and medium-sized industrial equipment. Specific applications are as follows:
1. Small and Medium-Sized Hoisting Machinery
This is its core application scenario. It is mainly compatible with the trolley traveling mechanism of general overhead cranes and gantry cranes, and can also be used for small and medium-sized jib cranes. In factory workshops, small ports and other places, it can provide stable deceleration and braking for material hoisting of such equipment, avoiding heavy object shaking or displacement caused by braking impact during hoisting and ensuring operational safety.
2. Non-Lifting Winch Equipment
It can be matched with the drive devices of various non-lifting winches, such as material traction winches in workshops and auxiliary transportation winches in small mines. During the process of winch traction of materials, it can realize on-demand deceleration or emergency braking through flexible foot control, preventing excessive sliding of materials due to inertia.
