MWZ160-80 Series Electromagnetic Drum Brake adopts mature DC electromagnetic driving mode and normally closed spring fail-safe principle. When the DC electromagnet is energized, the brake releases to allow equipment normal operation. Once power supply fails, built-in compression springs push brake shoes to clamp the brake drum instantly to prevent load falling and equipment sliding.

MWZ160-80 Series Electromagnetic Drum Brake
Compared with AC electromagnetic brakes, this DC brake delivers smoother action, lower startup impact and less noise. The braking torque is freely adjustable to adapt to different load requirements. Equipped with high wear-resistant friction linings, it maintains consistent braking performance under long-time frequent operation. The robust cast iron structure provides good rigidity and vibration resistance. All linkage parts are precisely processed, and friction linings can be replaced conveniently to reduce maintenance downtime.
It is widely adopted as emergency and parking safety brake for overhead cranes, gantry cranes, electric hoists and other medium-duty industrial lifting equipment.

MWZ160-80 Series Electromagnetic Drum Brake is a DC-driven normally closed safety brake designed for medium-duty lifting machinery. It operates on the principle of spring braking and DC electromagnetic release. When the DC electromagnet is energized, the brake opens to enable normal equipment running. In the event of power cut or circuit failure, built-in compression springs rapidly drive the brake shoes to clamp the brake drum, achieving reliable fail-safe braking and avoiding accidents such as load falling and equipment drifting.
Different from AC electromagnetic brakes, this DC electromagnetic drum brake features gentle actuation, small impact and low operating noise, which greatly reduces mechanical shock to transmission components during frequent start-stop cycles. The braking torque can be continuously adjusted to match various load demands and working conditions. Fitted with high-performance non-asbestos friction linings, the brake maintains a stable friction coefficient, outstanding wear resistance and consistent braking capacity under long-term cyclic operation.
