For cranes that are frequently used, the brakes should be checked every shift.
The inspection content includes: the integrity of the key parts of the brake, the contact and separation gap of the friction pair, the reliability of the brake release, and the overall performance of the brake should be sensitive and free from jams. For each lifting operation (especially lifting heavy, large and precise objects), first lift the hanging object a short distance from the ground. The operation can be carried out only after checking and confirming the reliable performance of the brake.
The key points of brake safety inspection are:
1. The braking friction surface of the brake wheel should not have defects that hinder the braking performance or be contaminated with oil;
2. The degree of wear of the friction material of the brake band or brake pad;
3. The actual contact area between the brake band or brake shoe and the brake wheel should not be less than 70% of the theoretical contact area;
4. The brake should have a heat capacity that meets the operating frequency and must not overheat;
5. The control parts of the brake (such as pedals, control handles, etc.) should have anti-slip performance;
6. Manpower control brake, the applied force and stroke should not exceed the requirements, and the necessary adjustments should be made if they exceed the requirements.
