Model & Core Specs
Model Nomenclature: CQPD-25.4A/25.4B/40A/40B. The numbers denote disc thickness (25.4 mm, 40 mm); A/B indicate different mounting/air port configurations.
Operating Pressure: Max 0.7 MPa (7 bar); ambient temp -20°C to +60°C.
Minimum Disc Diameter: ≥610 mm; disc thickness matches the model (25.4 or 40 mm).
Weight: 57 kg (B-type), 63 kg (A-type); cylinder volumes 0.7 dm³ (B) and 3 dm³ (A).
Operation Principle: Pneumatically applied, spring released (normally open at no air pressure; air pressure clamps the disc for braking). Not a default fail-safe for loss of air-use QPD series if fail-safe is required.
Key Structural & Performance Features
Compact caliper design, lightweight, easy to mount at multiple angles around the disc.
Non-asbestos, clip-in brake pads for tool-free quick replacement, no need to re-align the caliper.
Self-lubricating bearings at pivot points, no routine lubrication, high transmission efficiency.
Air circuit can add a speed control valve to steplessly adjust braking time for smooth stops.
ISO9001/14001 certified; dry, clean compressed air required (FRL unit recommended to avoid cylinder damage).
Typical Applications
Suited for medium-to-low torque industrial machinery with stable air supply, such as:
Belt conveyors (mining, ports, power plants);
Light-to-medium cranes and hoists;
Printing, paper-making, textile tension control;
Metallurgical auxiliary drives, packaging lines.
Installation & Maintenance Notes
Ensure disc diameter ≥610 mm, surface runout ≤0.1 mm, finish Ra ≤1.6 μm;
Mounting bolts must be torqued to manufacturer's specs, check regularly for loosening;
Pad wear should be inspected periodically; adjust clearance if stroke exceeds the rated value;
Add a filter-regulator-lubricator (FRL) to the air line to prevent moisture and debris from entering the cylinder.
