The DLZ40 Series is an electro-hydraulic drum-type wheel brake designed to brake the wheel itself on heavy track-mounted and wheeled equipment. "DLZ" = power-driven (电力液压) wheel (轮) brake; "40" = size 40 (Ø400 mm wheel class, ~4000–5000 N·m).
It sits at the intersection of two better-known families:
vs YW electro-hydraulic drum brake: YW clamps a separate brake drum on a shaft. DLZ clamps the wheel rim directly. Same Ed-thruster technology, same NC safety - but no drum required.
vs YLZ40 hydraulic wheel brake: YLZ40 is powered by a central hydraulic station (oil supply, multi-unit sync). DLZ40 is self-contained (built-in Ed thruster) - one unit, one power cable, no oil station.
