How about the braking performance of the disc brake

Sep 02, 2024

The inherent advantage of the disc brake design is the ability to dissipate the friction heat generated during braking. When the drum brake is strongly braking, the friction heat generated by the brake liner and the rotating brake surface will cause the braking force to weaken if it is not cooled, at this time, the driver must increase the intensity of stepping on the brake pedal, otherwise the braking distance will increase, thereby increasing the possibility of accidents. With disc brakes, the rotating surface is exposed to the air and cooled directly by the passing airflow, so the heat generated by friction can be cooled. At the same time, when the rotating surface expands due to the heat generated by friction, the brake liner remains freely suspended in the frame, thus keeping the brake liner and the rotating surface at a small distance.
