1. Installation Methods
QP and CQP series pneumatic disc brakes adopt horizontal caliper mounting as standard, vertical installation can be customized for compact equipment layouts. The overall installation dimensions comply with industry standard specifications, compatible with standard brake discs for cranes, conveyors, textile machinery and metallurgical equipment.
Standard Horizontal Installation
Fix the brake base firmly on the equipment support bracket with high-strength bolts. Keep the caliper body centered on the brake disc to ensure equal symmetrical clearance between friction pads on both sides of the disc, avoiding unilateral dragging, abnormal wear or overheating of the disc.
Install the matched pneumatic cylinder horizontally on the caliper side. Ensure the cylinder piston rod moves parallel to the brake disc surface to output uniform clamping force without eccentric deflection.
The brake body must be kept perpendicular to the brake disc working surface to eliminate biased friction and abnormal braking noise.
Reserve sufficient space on both sides of the brake disc for friction pad replacement, clearance adjustment and routine inspection.
Optional Vertical Installation
Applied to reels, reducer output shafts and positions with limited horizontal space. Custom vertical transition brackets are required for assembly. After vertical installation, inspect the cylinder reset spring and stroke to prevent delayed release or incomplete braking.
Core Installation Requirements
All sliding guide mechanisms are fitted with self-lubricating sleeves to reduce regular maintenance workload.
Thoroughly clean oil, rust, dust and grease on the brake disc surface before commissioning; oil contamination will seriously reduce friction coefficient and braking performance.
Adjust single-side pad clearance uniformly via built-in fine-tuning screws, standard clearance range: 0.5–1.0 mm per side.
Distinct working logic for two models:
QP: Normally open type - inflate to clamp and brake; exhaust air to release.
CQP: Normally closed fail-safe type - inflate to release brake; exhaust air for automatic spring braking.
Equip the air circuit with filter pressure regulators to supply clean, stable compressed air for the cylinder.
2. Standard Matching Accessories
Core Functional Supporting Parts
Special Pneumatic CylinderDedicated air cylinder as the driving component for QP/CQP calipers, providing linear thrust to drive pad clamping and retraction. Anti-rust inner cylinder is standard for dusty and humid workshops.
Manual Release DeviceHand lever for emergency brake opening when air supply fails or during equipment maintenance.
Limit Position SwitchesDetect fully-clamped and fully-released brake status, transmit feedback signals to the control system for safety interlock and fault alarm.
Pneumatic Circuit Auxiliary PartsIncluding high-pressure air hoses, quick connectors, air filter regulator units and mufflers, used to stabilize air pressure and filter moisture/impurities in compressed air.
Consumable Spare Parts
Quick-change friction padsHigh wear-resistant non-asbestos friction blocks with snap-in structure; no need to disassemble the whole caliper during replacement. Semi-metallic friction pads are optional for heavy-load, high-frequency braking.
Adjustment & Fastener KitContains clearance adjusting screws, spring preload nuts, locking bolts and sliding guide sleeves for regular parameter calibration.
Cylinder sealing repair kitIncludes piston seals, O-rings and dust gaskets, for periodic replacement to stop air leakage of the pneumatic cylinder.
3. Optional Custom Accessories
Explosion-proof limit switches and fully sealed pneumatic cylinders for chemical plants, coal mines and other flammable explosive hazardous zones.
Custom transition brackets specially designed for vertical installation or narrow installation space.
Dust & water protective covers for outdoor, mining and cement plant high-dust working conditions.
Buffer damping assemblies to lower impact, vibration and noise under frequent braking cycles.
Anti-corrosion coating and stainless steel fasteners for coastal, humid and salt-fog corrosive environments.
