Electromagnetic Actuation (Short Stroke):

Operation:
Energized (Open): When electricity flows through the copper coil, the magnetic field pulls the armature (plunger) inward, compressing the main spring and forcing the brake shoes to retract from the drum.
De-energized (Closed): When power is cut, the spring force pushes the armature back, forcing the brake shoes against the drum to stop the machine.
Pure Copper Coil:
High-quality TJ2-200 units typically feature pure copper coils (as opposed to aluminum), which offer better heat resistance, conductivity, and durability during frequent start-stop cycles.
Simple Mechanical Structure:
The brake consists of a steel lever system, brake arms, a base, and an adjustment rod. The linkage is connected via pivot pins (axles), making it robust and easy to repair.
Adjustable Torque:
The braking torque is determined by the compression of the main spring. Users can adjust the spring compression length via a nut to achieve the desired braking force (torque).
Replaceable Linings:
The brake shoes (blocks) are fitted with replaceable friction linings (historically asbestos, now often asbestos-free composites) to increase the friction coefficient and protect the brake wheel.
