Product Overview

MW250-315 electromagnetic drum brake is a normally closed fail-safe industrial braking device with the core working principle of spring-applied braking, electromagnetic release. It is equipped with high-quality dedicated electromagnet, featuring sensitive response, stable magnetic suction and durable performance.

Under normal power-on operation, the electromagnet generates stable magnetic force to drive the linkage mechanism, overcome the preload of the high-strength main spring, and separate the brake shoes from the brake drum to release the brake, ensuring free operation of mechanical equipment. Once power failure, circuit fault or power cut occurs, the electromagnet loses magnetism instantly. The built-in high-precision compression spring rapidly pushes the brake shoes to tightly clamp the 315mm brake drum, realizing automatic emergency braking and long-term load holding.

Compared with conventional ordinary brakes, MW250-315 brake adopts reinforced integral frame structure and synchronous gap balancing design. Working Principle

Power-on Release (Normal Operation State)

When the mechanical equipment is powered on, the matching electromagnet works normally and generates stable magnetic attraction. The magnetic force drives the linkage lever mechanism, overcomes the pre-tightening force of the high-strength main spring, and pushes the double brake shoes to separate from the 315mm brake drum. The brake is fully released without friction resistance, and the equipment can operate stably and continuously.

Power-off Braking (Emergency & Parking State)

When the equipment stops running, or encounters sudden power failure, circuit damage and other faults, the electromagnet instantly loses magnetic force. The pre-compressed main spring releases elastic force rapidly, driving the brake shoes to tightly clamp the brake drum. Stable and reliable friction braking torque is generated to realize rapid deceleration, emergency stop and long-term load holding, eliminating equipment sliding and safety hazards.
