ELECTRO HYDRAULIC THRUSTER OPERATED DRUM BRAKES

Installation of Drum Brakes:

The brake is always located on the high-speed side of the gearbox (an application) because its high speed allows it to absorb kinetic energy with less torque (higher speed means lower torque) and thus less braking. In general, the coupling between the motor and the gearbox is provided with a brake drum.

The brake is usually installed between the motor and the gearbox, that is to say installed on the high-speed shaft, the brake drum is always installed on the gearbox side, that is, the load side, so that it can make the lifting object or the moving object or the rotating object stop. If the brake cannot be installed between the motor and the gearbox, it should be installed on the high-speed shaft extension of the gearbox.

Brake Adjustment and Setting:

After the brake is installed, electrical connection of thruster is carried out. After electrical connection of the thrusters, make the following adjustments to the thrusters and set the brakes.

Arm centering (setting of equal air gap width) is done by the tailgate of the tailgate. Now energize the thrusters and release the brakes. Now adjust the arms with the base. To center the arm, loosen the nuts and bolts of the arm's bolts so that the shoe is evenly separated from the drum. In this case, fasten the rear stop bolt of the arm with a nut. Position one bolt to touch the base slightly and the other close to the base but not touching.
