DJPZ-850 Model Motor Disc Braking Device's Working Principle

Jul 09, 2025

Working Principle

This braking device operates on the principle of electromagnetic disc braking. When the motor is in normal operation, the braking device remains in a non - braking state. However, when a braking signal is received, an electromagnetic coil within the device is energized. This generates a magnetic field that attracts an armature plate, pressing it firmly against a stationary braking disc. The friction between the armature plate and the braking disc creates a braking torque, which rapidly decelerates and stops the rotating motor shaft. Once the braking signal is removed, springs in the device retract the armature plate, releasing the braking force and allowing the motor to resume normal operation.
