The YWZ8-200/E30 is a heavy-duty normally closed electro-hydraulic drum brake, the upgraded sibling of the YWZ4 series, designed for medium-to-heavy duty braking on 5–10 ton bridge/gantry cranes, belt conveyor head pulleys, and winch/trolley drives.
It combines a spring for braking force with an Ed30/5 electro-hydraulic thruster for release. Electricity is used ONLY to open the brake - the spring does all the stopping work. This is why it is called "fail-safe": remove the power and the brake engages automatically.
