How It Works
- Activation: The operator presses down on the foot pedal, which acts on a master cylinder containing hydraulic fluid.
- Hydraulic Pressure Generation: The master cylinder generates hydraulic pressure when the pedal is pressed. This pressure is transmitted through hydraulic lines to the hydraulic cylinder connected to the brake mechanism.
- Braking Force Application: The hydraulic cylinder uses this pressure to push the brake shoes against the inner surface of the drum. The friction between the shoes and the drum creates the braking force, slowing down or stopping the rotation of the drum.
- Releasing the Brake: When the operator releases the pedal, the hydraulic pressure decreases, and the return spring helps to retract the brake shoes from the drum, allowing the machine to continue operating or move freely.
