Maintenance of hydraulic brakes

Nov 26, 2021

Electro-hydraulic brakes are widely used in transportation, metallurgy, mining, ports, construction and other industries, and play a vital role in ensuring production safety. Mastering the correct use method and regularly maintaining the brakes can extend the service life of the brakes and cranes and ensure their safe and stable operation.

Carry out an in-depth inspection of the brakes 1-3 days apart, focusing on the following issues:

1. Whether the working stroke of the pusher (the distance between the pads) is normal.

2. Whether the automatic compensation device is worn or not, whether the compensation sleeve and the set screw are loose.

3. Whether the working length of the brake spring has changed.

4. Whether the touch plate of the limit switch is loose and the position is correct.

5. Whether there is oil stain on the surface of brake wheel and brake pad.

6. When the effective wear thickness of the brake pad is less than half of the original thickness, it should be scrapped in time, replace the pad and readjust and run-in.

7. If serious cracks occur during emergency braking, the brake wheel should be replaced in time.

During the daily use of the brake, pay attention to the following situations in time:

1. Whether the braking time and braking distance increase abnormally.

2. Whether the brake wheel is overspeeding during use.

3. Whether the limit switch action is correct and normal.

4. Check whether the brake wheel and brake pad maintain a high temperature above 350°C or smoke.

If any of the above abnormal phenomena occurs, stop the operation in time, find out the cause, and eliminate hidden dangers.
