1. Product Overview

TJ2-100/100 is a normally closed AC electromagnetic contracting drum brake from TJ2 series, matched with brake drum diameter of 100mm and supporting MZD1-100 single-phase AC electromagnet. It is a classic fail-safe braking unit widely used for speed limiting, static holding and emergency stop of drive systems in hoisting, metallurgy, mining, construction and conveying equipment.Model definition:

TJ2 = AC electromagnetic drum brake series;

First 100 = Brake drum diameter 100 mm;

Second 100 = Matching electromagnet specification MZD1-100.

2. Working Principle (Fail-Safe Spring-Braked, Electromagnet Release)

Braking state (Power OFF / Emergency cut-off):

When the electromagnet loses power, no magnetic attraction is generated. Preloaded main compression springs push two brake arms outward, forcing riveted brake shoes with friction linings to clamp tightly around the outer surface of brake drum; friction torque locks the drum and stops shaft rotation automatically (core safety design: power failure = automatic braking).

Release state (Power ON):

Single-phase AC power energizes the MZD1-100 electromagnet to produce magnetic pull, overcoming spring preload to pull brake arms apart; brake shoes separate from drum surface, clearance forms between lining and drum, equipment runs freely.

Braking clearance and spring preload can be fine-tuned via adjusting screw on brake lever to compensate friction lining wear.

3. Key Structural & Product Features

Rigid steel frame structure: Brake arm, base and pivot shafts are made of high-strength cast steel/carbon steel, high mechanical rigidity and anti-deformation under frequent alternating load.

Riveted friction lining: Standard riveted non-asbestos brake shoe lining, easy for on-site replacement without full brake disassembly; optional eco-friendly asbestos-free pads available.

Low-noise AC electromagnet: MZD1-100 single-phase AC solenoid features stable suction force, low operating noise and simple on-site commissioning.

Intrinsic fail-safe design: Spring-applied braking ensures instant locking upon power outage, avoiding cargo falling or runaway mechanical accidents for lifting equipment.

Compact layout: Small overall dimension for easy installation on motor shaft or high-speed reducer shaft (small torque position for cost saving).
