1. Installation Methods
YFX series electro-hydraulic windproof wedge brakes are specially designed for outdoor rail-mounted cranes to prevent sliding under strong winds. Horizontal clamping installation on rail side is the standard layout, customized vertical mounting brackets are available for special track layout requirements.
Standard Horizontal Rail Side Installation
Secure the brake base firmly to the crane cart/trolley frame with high-strength anti-loosening bolts. Align the wedge friction block perpendicularly with the side surface of the crane rail to ensure full contact between friction lining and rail waist.
Mount the matched ED electro-hydraulic thruster horizontally on the top of the wedge mechanism. Ensure the thruster push rod moves horizontally without deflection to drive the wedge block for clamping and releasing actions.
Reserve sufficient maintenance space on the outer side of the rail for friction lining replacement, gap adjustment and thruster inspection.
Multiple YFX brakes shall be symmetrically arranged on both sides of the cart track according to wind load calculation to balance wind resistance.
Optional Custom Vertical Mounting
For narrow track spacing or special crane beam structures, custom vertical transition brackets can be supplied to realize vertical layout. After installation, recheck the wedge stroke and thruster oil level to avoid incomplete rail clamping.
Core Installation Requirements
All wedge sliding guide surfaces adopt self-lubricating wear-resistant sleeves to reduce maintenance frequency.
Clean rust, mud, dust and oil stains on the rail waist before commissioning; grease contamination will greatly reduce windproof friction force.
Adjust the gap between friction lining and rail via built-in fine-tuning bolts; standard idle clearance: 3–8 mm.
Fail-safe windproof logic: Power-off, the built-in compression spring pushes the wedge to tightly clamp the rail for wind locking; energize the electro-hydraulic thruster to pull the wedge back and release the rail for crane traveling.
The brake body must be equipped with anti-vibration gaskets to avoid loosening under long-term outdoor vibration.
