Working Principle
Power on - release
Ed30/5 motor drives the centrifugal pump, hydraulic pressure extends the piston, shoes open against the spring, drum runs free.
Power off - brake
Spring force closes the shoes onto the drum. No electrical supply needed to hold.
Fail-safe
Loss of voltage, contactor drop-out, control failure - the spring wins. Brake is closed.
Do / Don't
Do:
Verify D300, C160, A500, H610, K250 (or 270) before order.
Read spring preload on the scale; don't trust nameplate torque alone.
Set retreat to 1.0 mm, then check both sides equal.
Use card-mounted non-asbestos lining matched to duty.
Don't:
Don't use a standard YWZ8 in explosive gas or dust zones.
Don't weld or tie the push rod to force the brake open.
Don't run Ed30/5 on wrong voltage without confirmation.
Don't adjust torque by shimming the shoe only - adjust the spring preload.
