ZYTJX Series Hydraulic Rail Clamp - ZYTJX-250-P50-RL

Nov 19, 2025

The ZYTJX-250-P50-RL is a heavy-duty hydraulic rail clamp from the ZYTJX series, designed for anti-slip and positioning of rail-mounted industrial machinery. It adopts a hydraulic-driven clamping structure with a "fail-safe" design (spring-engaged clamping, hydraulic release), featuring strong clamping force, reliable locking, and right-left dual-mount (RL) configuration. The model designation clarifies core parameters: "ZYTJX" for Hydraulic Rail Clamp series, "250" for maximum clamping force (250 kN), "P50" for compatible rail model (P50 rail), and "RL" for right-left symmetric mounting. Widely used in outdoor, inclined, or high-wind industrial scenarios, it ensures rail equipment remains stationary during shutdown, maintenance, or extreme conditions. Details of its working principle and applications are as follows:

1. Working Principle

The clamp operates based on "spring-driven clamping + hydraulic release" logic, supplemented by safety interlock and wear-compensation designs. The core working process includes three key states:

1.1 Clamping (Default Safety State)

When the rail-mounted equipment (e.g., gantry crane, rail conveyor) is shut down, powered off, or in emergency mode, the hydraulic system is depressurized.

Internal high-tension disc springs (60Si2MnA alloy steel) release elastic force, pushing the clamp's upper and lower jaw plates to close inward.

The jaw plates (lined with wear-resistant rubber composite pads) tightly grip the top and side surfaces of the P50 rail. The 250 kN clamping force generates sufficient friction to lock the equipment's wheel set, preventing sliding due to gravity (on inclined rails), wind load, or external impact.

A self-locking mechanism in the jaw structure ensures the clamp remains engaged without additional energy input, enhancing static positioning reliability.

1.2 Release (Operating State)

When the equipment needs to move, the hydraulic system (working pressure: 12–16 MPa) is activated. Hydraulic oil is delivered to the clamp's cylinder, driving the piston to overcome the disc spring force.

The piston pulls the jaw plates apart outward, creating a 5–8 mm clearance between the pads and the rail.

The clamp is fully released, and the equipment's wheel set can roll freely along the rail, enabling normal movement (e.g., crane traveling, conveyor transportation).

1.3 Safety & Stability Guarantee

Emergency Response: In case of hydraulic system leakage or power loss, the disc springs immediately drive the jaws to re-clamp the rail, avoiding equipment runaway-critical for inclined rails (≤15° slope) or high-wind environments.

Wear Compensation: A built-in adjustable mechanism compensates for rubber pad wear (up to 10 mm), maintaining consistent clamping force without manual adjustment.

Interlock Control: Equipped with limit switches (IP67 protection) that send "clamped" or "released" signals to the equipment's control system. The equipment can only start moving when the clamp is fully released, preventing misoperation.

2. Typical Applications

The ZYTJX-250-P50-RL is optimized for P50 rail-mounted heavy machinery (load capacity: 50–500 tons), adapting to outdoor, humid, dusty, or inclined working conditions. Core applications include:

2.1 Port & Container Machinery

Compatible with gantry cranes, container stackers, and rail-mounted loaders/unloaders in ports. It locks the equipment during cargo loading/unloading or shutdown, resisting coastal strong winds and preventing displacement caused by wave vibration.

Suitable for bulk cargo terminals (coal, grain, ore) to secure rail conveyors and stacking machines, ensuring operational safety in open-air, high-wind environments.

2.2 Industrial Hoisting & Transport Equipment

Used for gantry cranes, overhead crane traveling mechanisms, and rail-mounted transfer carts in steel mills, shipyards, and heavy machinery factories. It provides anti-slip locking during equipment maintenance or workpiece hoisting, especially on inclined rails (e.g., workshop inclined transport rails).

Applied to rail-mounted ladle turntables and billet conveyors in metallurgical plants, withstanding high temperatures (≤120°C ambient) and dusty environments while maintaining reliable clamping.

2.3 Construction & Engineering Machinery

Matches rail-mounted gantry cranes, bridge erection equipment, and tunnel boring machine (TBM) auxiliary rail systems on large construction sites. It locks the equipment during construction pauses or component installation, preventing sliding on temporary inclined rails.

Suitable for wind power construction equipment (e.g., rail-mounted wind turbine hoists) to secure the machine during blade installation or maintenance, resisting strong winds in mountainous or coastal wind farms.

2.4 Mine & Material Handling Equipment

Used for rail-mounted ore conveyors, mine hoist traveling mechanisms, and underground rail transport vehicles in large mines. It adapts to humid, dusty, or slightly corrosive underground environments, ensuring equipment stability during shutdown or loading/unloading.

Applied to rail-mounted bulk material conveyors in coal-fired power plants and cement factories, preventing material-induced equipment displacement and ensuring continuous production safety.
