Description

Working Principle

When the braking command is issued, compressed air is directed to the pneumatic actuator through the control valve. The piston in the actuator moves, and through the linkages, it pushes the brake shoes against the inner surface of the brake drum. The friction between the shoes and the drum generates a braking force that slows down or stops the rotation of the machinery. When the braking action is no longer required, the control valve releases the compressed air from the actuator, and the brake springs retract the shoes, allowing the machinery to resume normal operation.
