Working Principle

The core of this brake is a normally closed design based on "spring-applied braking and electric release," supplemented by a manual release function. Its working process consists of two core states: brake release and braking execution, with details as follows:

Brake Release

When the motor matched with the brake is powered on and operates, the internal electromagnet of the brake is synchronously connected to the corresponding DC power supply (common working voltages for the electromagnetic coils of this series are DC99V and DC170V). After energization, the electromagnet generates electromagnetic attraction, which pulls the armature and compresses the internal spring, causing the brake disc to disengage from the armature end cover. At this point, the brake disc is free from frictional resistance and can rotate freely with the motor shaft, allowing the motor to output power normally and drive the load equipment to operate.

Braking Execution

When the motor is powered off, the equipment stops, or a circuit fault occurs, the electromagnet loses electromagnetic attraction instantly. The previously compressed spring quickly returns to its original state, pushing the armature to clamp the brake disc tightly. The brake disc closely adheres to the rotating parts of the motor, generating friction torque. Under the action of this torque, the motor shaft decelerates rapidly and eventually stops rotating, thereby achieving equipment braking and preventing potential safety hazards caused by the equipment's continuous operation due to inertia.

Emergency Assistance

Brakes in this series are equipped with a manual release function. In case of sudden power outage requiring manual equipment debugging or maintenance, workers can manually release the brake, enhancing the flexibility and safety of equipment maintenance.
