Electro-hydraulic thruster is the key component of thruster brake, which is a kind of industrial brake. A thruster brake is a fail-safe brake that uses an electro-hydraulic thruster to keep the brake open.
Description
The basic design of the Ed thruster includes a three-phase electric motor and a closed hydraulic system. When electricity is provided, the motor drives the centrifugal pump, which creates a wave pressure that stretches the piston rod and releases the brake. If the thruster closes or loses power, the piston rod retracts and the spring engages the brake.
Usage
The electro-hydraulic thruster brake is used to delay the speed of the moving machinery and stop exactly to the desired position.
The breaking force of the brake shoe is applied by a prestressed compression spring.
The brake shoe presses against the rotating brake drum, slowing it down and eventually stopping it.
Other release devices such as pneumatic/hydraulic cylinders or manual release devices are available upon request.
