Working Principle
When hydraulic or pneumatic fluid is pumped into the pressure chamber of the cylinder through the fluid inlet port, it exerts a force on the piston. According to Pascal's law, the pressure is transmitted uniformly throughout the fluid, causing the piston to move in the direction of the lower - pressure chamber (the return chamber). As the piston moves, it pushes the connected push rod, which in turn applies a linear force to the external load. To retract the push rod, the fluid is drained from the pressure chamber through the fluid outlet port, and the return spring (if equipped) or the external load itself may assist in moving the piston and push rod back to their original positions.
