Ed Series Electro-hydraulic thruster
ED electro-hydraulic thrusters adopt vertical upward installation as standard; horizontal mounting is only available for special modified models. Standard matching accessories include connecting push rod assemblies and wiring glands; sealing kits and special hydraulic oil are regular consumable spares. Flameproof assemblies, extended push rods and dust-proof outer shields are optional supporting parts for various industrial drum and disc brake systems.

1. Installation Methods
ED electro-hydraulic thrusters are the universal driving power unit matched for YWZ, YW-E, YP and other drum/disc brakes. Vertical upward installation is standard configuration; horizontal/tilted mounting is allowed only for customized special models with structural adaptation. It complies with JB/T6406 and DIN15430 mounting dimensional standards.
Standard Vertical Upward Installation
Fix the thruster flange firmly on the brake arm mounting support with high-strength lock bolts, keep the piston push rod vertically downward without deflection.
The oil tank of the thruster must face upward completely to guarantee full internal hydraulic oil immersion of internal transmission components, avoiding air entrapment, slow response or overheating wear.
Connect the push rod to the brake adjusting arm via pin shaft; reserve proper stroke margin according to brake design parameters, avoid over-travel jacking or insufficient opening stroke.
Keep surrounding space for oil filling, oil drain, seal replacement and push rod stroke inspection.
Optional Horizontal / Inclined Custom Mounting
Only applicable to ED special horizontal variant thrusters with modified internal oil chamber structure. Standard vertical ED series are forbidden to be installed horizontally or upside down directly, otherwise oil lubrication failure will cause rapid internal damage.
Flip the dedicated horizontal mounting base; adjust the oil level according to factory calibration label after installation.
Add anti-oil-leak auxiliary sealing rings at the cylinder end cover as required.
Key Installation & Commissioning Requirements
All pin connection points use self-lubricating bushings; apply a small amount of lithium grease during assembly.
Before power-on test, fill the specified anti-wear hydraulic oil to the standard liquid level marked on the oil sight glass.
Adjust the connecting length of the push rod to ensure the brake friction lining clearance reaches the equipment design value after thruster full extension.
Power supply options: AC220V / AC380V for standard ED; flameproof BEd series support special explosion-proof voltage grades.
Avoid long-term water splash, dust accumulation and corrosive gas erosion on the motor housing.
