1. Installation Methods

YT1 series electro-hydraulic thrusters are general driving components matched for traditional electro-hydraulic drum brakes. Vertical upward installation is the standard mounting form; horizontal or inclined installation is prohibited for standard models, only customized modified versions support side mounting. The overall dimensions comply with JB/ZQ4388 industry standards.

Standard Vertical Upward Installation

Fasten the thruster mounting flange firmly on the brake swing arm bracket with high-strength locking bolts, ensuring the piston push rod points vertically downward without deflection.

The oil storage tank must face straight up to fully submerge internal moving parts in hydraulic oil. Improper tilt will cause oil starvation, air accumulation, slow action and accelerated component wear.

Assemble the adjustable push rod with the brake arm through hinge pins. Reserve enough stroke allowance to prevent insufficient brake opening or top dead center impact.

Reserve surrounding maintenance space for oil filling, oil draining, seal replacement and stroke inspection.

Special Custom Horizontal Installation

Only available for reworked YT1-H horizontal thrusters with reshaped internal oil chambers. Standard YT1 cannot be installed horizontally directly. After assembly, calibrate the oil level per the factory marking and install auxiliary anti-leakage gaskets on end covers.

Key Installation & Commissioning Requirements

Lubricate hinge pins and connecting sleeves with lithium grease during assembly.

Fill dedicated anti-wear hydraulic oil to the scale mark on the oil sight glass before trial run; avoid overfilling or insufficient oil.

Adjust the threaded push rod length to make friction lining clearance consistent on both brake sides when the thruster fully stretches out.

Standard power supply: AC380V; customized AC220V motors are optional.

Keep the motor body away from splashing water, heavy dust and corrosive gas to avoid coil short circuit.
