DLZ electro-hydraulic wheel brakes are horizontally mounted beside wheel hubs as standard, vertical brackets available on request. 1. Installation Methods

DLZ series electro-hydraulic wheel brakes take horizontal wheel hub side clamping mounting as the standard configuration, and custom vertical transition brackets can be supplied for narrow horizontal bogie layout. They are supporting braking components for industrial trolleys, port container spreaders, mining transfer vehicles and rail wheel sets.

Standard Horizontal Wheel-Side Mounting

Fasten the brake base firmly on the vehicle bogie frame with high-strength anti-loosening bolts. Keep the caliper body perpendicular to the wheel friction ring to ensure symmetrical and full contact between double-sided friction blocks and the wheel friction surface.

Install the matched ED series electro-hydraulic thruster horizontally on the caliper side. Guarantee the thruster push rod moves parallel to the wheel without deflection to output balanced clamping thrust.

Reserve sufficient maintenance space around the wheel hub for friction block replacement, clearance calibration and daily thruster inspection.

Symmetrically arrange multiple DLZ brakes on left and right wheel sets according to the vehicle load and braking torque demand to avoid unilateral braking deviation.

Optional Vertical Custom Mounting

Suitable for compact mining vehicles and small transfer trolleys with limited horizontal space. Special transition brackets are required for vertical assembly. After installation, recheck the thruster internal oil level and reset spring stroke to prevent incomplete release or insufficient braking force.

Core Installation Requirements

All sliding guide mechanisms adopt maintenance-free self-lubricating sleeves, no regular greasing required after installation.

Thoroughly remove mud, oil stains, rust and dust on the wheel friction ring before trial operation; oil contamination will seriously reduce friction coefficient and braking safety.

Adjust single-side gap between friction block and wheel ring via built-in fine-tuning screws, standard clearance: 0.5–1.0 mm on each side.

Fail-safe working logic: Power on the electro-hydraulic thruster to retract friction blocks and release the wheel; power failure triggers built-in preloaded springs to push blocks tightly against the wheel for automatic safety braking.

Avoid strong impact and vibration on the thruster during vehicle operation to prevent internal oil leakage.
