Use and maintenance of thruster brake

1. Before installation, clean the surface of the brake wheel to remove oil and other dirt.

2. Check whether the brake is damaged or missing parts during transportation or storage. According to the installation position of the brake on the main engine, determine the side with large or convenient maintenance and adjustment space of the brake.

3. Adjusting the position of the pad: When the brake is in the state of holding the brake, rotate the bolt in the adjustment device of the pad to make its top contact with the rib of the brake pad.

4. After all installation, adjustment and inspection, the brake should be run several times without load on the main engine. The brake pad performs a certain amount of running-in, so that it fits well with the brake wheel.

5. The temperature of the brake wheel should not exceed 200°C. When the thickness of the brake pad reaches the specified value, it should be replaced with a new brake pad.
