1. Product Overview
The CQP Series pneumatic disc brake is a widely used industrial caliper-type air-operated disc brake, distinguished from QP-series brakes by its core working logic: air pressure for braking, built-in return springs for brake release (QP is spring-applied braking & pneumatic release). Main mainstream models include CQP10B, CQP20B, CQP38B, CQPL38B with subtypes marked A/B/F for different mounting and air chamber layouts. It serves as reliable stopping, deceleration and constant-tension control equipment for diversified heavy-duty industrial machinery.
2. Working Principle
Braking stroke: Clean, dry compressed air enters the pneumatic actuator chamber; air pressure drives internal piston and brake caliper to squeeze non-asbestos friction pads tightly onto the rotating brake disc. Frictional torque generated between pads and disc slows down or locks the rotating shaft to finish braking.
Release stroke: Once compressed air is exhausted from the air chamber, preloaded reset springs pull the caliper and brake pads away from the disc automatically, eliminating friction and releasing the brake fully.
Braking torque can be adjusted steplessly by modifying input air pressure via an air flow control valve on the gas pipeline.
3. Core Structural & Performance Features
Compact lightweight structure: Integrated caliper design, small overall dimension and low self-weight for flexible installation on limited-space equipment.
Eco-friendly friction lining: Non-asbestos brake pads comply with global environmental standards; pads adopt spring-clamp fixed structure for quick on-site replacement without extra disassembly of the whole brake body.
Easy maintenance & adjustment: Pad clearance can be conveniently tuned after friction wear; no complicated hydraulic oil circuit to avoid liquid leakage risk compared with hydraulic brakes.
Stable adjustable braking: Infinite adjustment of braking response time and clamping force through air pressure regulation, enabling smooth soft stop and precise tension control.
Customizable anti-corrosion option: Anti-rust coated version is available for outdoor, damp or corrosive gas working environments.
4. Operating Technical Conditions
Rated working air pressure: ≤7 bar, air source must be filtered free of water, oil and solid impurities.
Ambient working temperature range: -5℃ ~ +40℃ for standard type; customized wide-temperature version for extreme cold/hot sites.
Flexible installation: Can be mounted horizontally or vertically around brake disc, single or multiple brakes symmetrically fitted on one disc as needed.
5. Main Industrial Applications
Heavy machinery braking: Hoisting equipment, port dock machinery, mining & metallurgical machines, construction tower cranes and bulk material conveyors for emergency stop and running deceleration.
Precision tension control: Paper-making machines, copper/aluminum foil rolling lines, wire & cable winding/unwinding equipment, plastic film slitting machines to maintain constant material tension during production.
