1. Model Code Explanation

QWZ5: Series code, Q=Pneumatic, W=Drum brake, Z=Spring closed fail-safe structure, 5=improved new generation pneumatic drum brake series

500: Matching brake drum nominal diameter: Φ500 mm

63: Equipped with QG-63 single-acting pneumatic cylinder (cylinder specification 63#)

2. Working Principle (Normally Closed Fail-Safe, Spring Brake / Air Release)

Air cut-off / Braking state (parking & emergency stop):No compressed air input; main compression springs pull brake arms tightly, press two brake shoes against Φ500 brake drum to generate fixed braking torque; auto locking under air source failure for equipment anti-slip safety.

Air feed / Brake release (equipment running):Compressed air (0.5~0.7MPa) enters QG63 air cylinder, cylinder piston extends to overcome spring preload, push brake arms to open brake shoes away from brake drum; brake drum rotates freely without friction drag.
