One-line decision
DYW250-400 = BYWZ5-level Ex protection + modern auto-compensation and equal-clearance linkage, on the same mounting envelope as YWZ5/BYWZ5. If the project needs a certified Ex assembly and the wheel is Ø250 → DYW250-400. If no Ex zone → save cost with YWZ5-400.
Installation - do / don't
Must do
Mount on horizontal, rigid base; align to brake wheel center
Set equal clearance on both shoes (linkage adjusted)
Confirm Ex certificate matches project Zone / gas group
Verify thruster voltage (380/660/1140V) before energizing
Never do
Weld or tie the push-rod - destroys fail-safe
Run without Ex certificate matching the gas group
Reverse shoe lining material (must be Ex-rated)
Adjust spring preload beyond 315–500 N·m range
