DYW is the explosion-protected evolution of the BYWZ5 / YWZ5 drum-brake family. Same mounting envelope as BYWZ5 / YWZ5, but fully certified for methane/coal-dust and flammable-gas zones. DYW250-400 = 250 mm drum diameter, 400 N·m class, matched to a BEd50/6 explosion-protected electro-hydraulic thruster.

Three naming traps to avoid
"400" is a torque CLASS, not a fixed 400 N·m. Actual torque is set by spring preload and ranges 315–500 N·m - must be confirmed against drum Ø and required stopping load.
"250" is drum diameter (mm), not a torque value. Matching the wheel/brake-wheel size is the first selection step.
Ex rating is NOT in the model string. Whether it covers Ex d I Mb (methane/coal), Ex d IIB T4 (gas) or IIC is decided by the certificate unit - must be declared at order.
