ED80/12 Ex is a flameproof electro-hydraulic thruster developed based on standard ED series, specially designed for explosive hazardous areas. It complies with GB3836 and relevant international explosion-proof standards, serving as the actuating component for various spring-applied drum brakes and disc brakes.

2. Working Principle

• Power on (Brake release): The built-in motor drives the centrifugal hydraulic pump to generate pressure, pushing the piston rod to extend with rated thrust. It overcomes the spring force of the matched brake and releases the brake.
• Power off (Brake engagement): The motor stops running and hydraulic pressure disappears. The return spring of the brake pulls the piston rod back rapidly, and the brake engages automatically. This fail-safe structure effectively prevents equipment runaway under power failure.
