YW-K Normally Open Brake – Zero Drag Wear, Smooth Crane Travel Deceleration
Different from conventional power-off fail-safe closed brakes (YWZ4/YWZ8), YW-K series adopts a unique normally-open structural design. Under power-off state, the internal spring keeps brake shoes fully retracted away from the brake drum without any contact friction. Only when the electro-hydraulic thruster is energized will the brake clamp the drum to realize active deceleration and emergency stop. It is specially developed for crane travel trolleys, belt conveyors and metallurgical transfer carts to solve excessive friction lining wear caused by long-term shoe-drum dragging during equipment operation.

YW-K Normally Open Brake

Snap-in plug-type non-asbestos friction linings support rapid replacement without disassembling the whole brake frame;
Sealed spring tube prevents dust, rust and debris from corroding internal springs, stabilizing long-term braking performance.
Flexible matching and customized optionsStandard configuration supports vertical installation; custom horizontal transition brackets for narrow trolley space. BEd flameproof thruster matching is available for underground mines and chemical flammable hazardous zones. Optional travel limit switches feed back brake engagement/release signals to realize PLC safety interlock control. Rainproof & dustproof outer covers and anti-corrosion coating can be customized for open-air port and high-dust workshops.
