Description
As a normally closed hydraulic caliper disc safety brake in the SB/SBD series, the SB100 is commonly used for braking large and medium-sized cranes, hoists, and similar equipment. It boasts prominent advantages and clear installation specifications, detailed as follows:
1. Core Advantages
1.1 Comprehensive Safety Guarantee
Adopts a normally closed design, maintaining the braking state via specially designed disc springs when there is no hydraulic action. Even if the hydraulic system fails, it can automatically clamp the brake disc to prevent equipment runaway, making it suitable for emergency braking scenarios. Additionally, it can be equipped with brake release limit switches and lining wear limit switches, which work with the PLC control system to achieve interlock protection and fault display, providing timely fault warnings.
1.2 Stable Braking Performance
Equipped with asbestos-free hard friction linings with a stable friction coefficient. These linings not only do not damage the brake disc but also are insensitive to harsh environments such as water media and salt spray, maintaining stable braking effects in humid or corrosive scenarios like ports and mines. The brake disc conducts heat on both sides and cools easily during rotation, with minimal thermal expansion. Even under long-term high-load operation, braking performance will not degrade due to overheating.
1.3 Long Service Life
Uses imported brand-name seals and features a reasonable sealing structure, which can effectively prevent impurities from entering internal components and reduce part wear. Moreover, the braking force acts evenly on the brake disc during braking, reducing local excessive wear and extending the overall service life.
1.4 Convenient Operation and Maintenance
Features a compact overall structure, small size, and light weight, allowing flexible installation positions. At the same time, it is easy to realize automatic adjustment of the brake clearance. Daily maintenance only requires checking lining wear, sealing conditions, etc. During maintenance, the process of disassembling and replacing parts is simple, which can reduce maintenance costs and downtime.
2. Installation Specifications
2.1 Pre-Installation Preparation
The mounting bracket is usually not supplied with the brake and needs to be manufactured by the user. The manufacturing must comply with the requirements for dimensions, tolerances, and surface roughness specified in the product manual. The mounting base must be stable and flat. If the base is installed together with the brake, the brake should be initially positioned and calibrated first, then the base should be fixed by welding or bolts.
2.2 Core Installation Operations
During installation, ensure that the exhaust joint side of the brake faces upward to avoid affecting the exhaust of the hydraulic system. Fasten the brake caliper with 8 or more 10.9-grade (or higher) bolts with nylon lock inserts, paired with flat washers made of quenched and tempered 45# steel. The bolts must be tightened to the specified torque using a torque wrench.
2.3 Installation Precision Control
The maximum end runout of the brake disc should be controlled at ±0.22 mm; the perpendicularity deviation of the base relative to the brake disc shall not exceed ±4‰; the maximum deviation of the brake disc relative to the center of the base shall not exceed ±2.5 mm. These requirements ensure uniform force during braking and avoid abnormal wear.
2.4 Post-Installation Calibration
After installation, test the oil supply and return status of the hydraulic system, check the fit between the brake shoes and the brake disc, and verify that the brake application and release actions are sensitive. Only after confirming no jamming occurs can the brake be put into use.
