YLZ40 hydraulic wheel brake is a wheel-mounted safety braking device designed for outdoor harsh working conditions. Different from traditional rail wedge brakes, it directly clamps the crane travelling wheel rim to realize all-round windproof locking and static parking braking.

This brake adopts disc spring group to provide stable and lasting braking force. Under standby and power-off state, the disc spring pushes the friction pad to tightly clamp the wheel rim, achieving reliable self-locking and anti-slip effect. Working Principle

Hydraulic Release (Equipment Running State)

When the crane needs to travel, the external hydraulic station outputs stable hydraulic pressure. The hydraulic cylinder overcomes the pre-tightening force of the disc spring group, pushes the brake caliper to retract the friction pad, and separates it from the travelling wheel rim. The brake is fully released without any clamping resistance, and the rail crane can operate normally and travel freely.

Spring Locking (Standby & Storm State)

When the equipment stops running, the hydraulic pressure is unloaded. Once encountering power failure, hydraulic system failure or strong storm weather, the high-strength disc spring group instantly releases elastic force, pushing the friction pad to tightly clamp the crane wheel rim. Reliable static braking friction force is formed to lock the travelling wheel firmly, completely avoiding equipment drifting, sliding and runaway safety accidents caused by outdoor strong wind.
