All brakes in this series adopt a normally closed band brake structure operated by AC electromagnets, featuring safety and reliability, low electromagnetic noise, and simple commissioning. Working Principle
The core components of this brake include a vertical plate frame, brake shoes, an adjusting rod, compression springs, a base, and a single-phase AC braking electromagnet. The brake shoes are equipped with replaceable asbestos brake linings to enhance frictional braking effect. Its braking and release actions are achieved through the coordination of the electromagnet and compression springs, with the specific processes as follows:
Braking: As a normally closed brake, it defaults to the braking state when the equipment is powered off. At this time, no current flows through the electromagnet, and there is no electromagnetic attraction. The compression springs release elastic force to push the vertical plate frames and brake shoes on both sides, tightly clamping the brake drum. Strong friction is generated between the asbestos brake linings on the brake shoes and the brake drum, forming braking torque, which then quickly absorbs the inertia of the equipment's rotating mechanism, realizing deceleration or stopping of the equipment and preventing objects from moving out of control due to gravity or inertia.
Brake Release: When the equipment starts and requires brake release, the single-phase AC braking electromagnet is energized and generates electromagnetic attraction. The attraction action of the electromagnet drives the adjusting rod to link, prompting the vertical plate frames on both sides to open outward against the elastic force of the compression springs. The brake shoes then separate from the brake drum, the friction between them disappears, and the braking state is released. The transmission mechanism of the equipment can then normally drive the brake drum to operate, ensuring the smooth start and operation of the equipment.
Application Scenarios
This brake is suitable for components with a wheel diameter of approximately 200mm, and its braking torque ranges from 10 to 500Nm, which can meet the braking needs of various medium and low-load machinery. It is widely used in multiple industrial fields:
Hoisting and Transportation Machinery: This is its core application field, commonly found in equipment such as cranes, electric hoists, and belt conveyors. For example, when a crane lifts heavy objects, it can precisely control the lifting and lowering speed of the heavy objects, and maintain the braking state even in the event of sudden power failure to prevent the heavy objects from falling; when the conveyor transports materials, it can quickly brake to avoid material accumulation or scattering due to inertia.
