Normally closed design. Main spring stores braking force; Ed23/5 thruster only works to OPEN. On power loss, spring force clamps both shoes onto the Ø200 drum instantly - zero external energy needed. The safest configuration for lifting and conveying equipment.
✔ Optimized Lever Ratio - Smoother Torque Curve
YWZ9 series re-calculates the lever linkage vs. old YWZ4. 160 N·m rated torque is delivered linearly, not in a sudden spike. Less shoe impact on engagement, less drum surface scoring, longer lining life under frequent start-stop cycles.
✔ Same Base as YWZ4 & YWZB - Drop-in Replacement
Identical mounting footprint to YWZ4-200 and legacy YWZB-200. No new bolt holes, no foundation rework. Remove old brake, bolt in YWZ9 - one maintenance shift. The easiest and cheapest upgrade for 5t-class cranes still running old YWZB units.
✔ Auto Equal Clearance + Self-Lubricating Pivots
Dual-side equal-retraction linkage keeps both shoes at uniform gap from drum (0.5–0.8mm). All hinge pins fitted with oil-free self-lubricating bushings - no daily greasing, no dirty grease on drum.
Products Description
The YWZ9-200/E23 is a normally closed electro-hydraulic drum brake designed for medium-duty hoisting and conveying applications. It uses a spring for braking and an Ed23/5 electro-hydraulic thruster for release. Electricity is only used to OPEN the brake - the spring does all the stopping. Remove power, the brake is ON.
Positioned between YWZ4 (economy) and YWZ8 (heavy-duty), the YWZ9 series is the "best value" upgrade: same footprint as legacy models, but with optimized lever geometry, smoother torque delivery, and maintenance-free pivots.
