Normally closed design. When power cuts or thruster de-energizes, internal springs instantly clamp the brake shoes onto the drum. No external energy needed for braking. Prevents load runaway on crane hoist and trolley drives.

Equipped with Ed23/5 thruster (23kg thrust / 0.5s closing, 0.35s opening). IP65 motor, class F insulation, HZ/TZ dual-travel structure. Smooth engagement, low impact, long service life (≥1 million cycles).
✔ Equal Clearance Mechanism - No Shoe Drag
Automatic equal-retraction linkage ensures both brake shoes retract evenly. No unilateral wear, no drum overheating. Lining life extended by 30% vs. old YWZB series.

Products Description
The YWZ4-150/E23 is a heavy-duty normally closed electro-hydraulic drum brake widely used on bridge cranes, gantry cranes, belt conveyors, and winch trolleys. It uses a spring for braking and an Ed23/5 electro-hydraulic thruster for release - the most proven and economical brake solution in Chinese crane industry for 20+ years.
It is the recommended upgrade over legacy YWZB models: improved equal-clearance mechanism, self-lubricating hinges, and torque scale indicator on the spring rod.
