Application

Hydraulic safety (emergency) brakes are high-power braking devices which can be wildly used as emergency safety brake on low speed shafts for the lifting control and pitching mechanism of various large and middle crane、port handling machinery. They are also applied for the same purpose for mine winder ,lifter ,elevators ,belt conveyers ,cable cars, foundry and cable cranes and so on.

Working principle:

When braking, the oil is pressed into the inner and outer wheel cylinders, and the piston presses the two brake blocks on the brake disc under the action of hydraulic pressure, generating friction torque and braking. At this time, the edge of the rectangular rubber sealing ring in the wheel cylinder groove produces a small amount of elastic deformation under the action of the friction force of the piston.

After the brake is released, the piston and brake block return to their original positions under the elastic force of the seal ring and spring.

If the gap between the brake pad friction plate and the brake disc increases, and the deformation of the sealing ring reaches the limit during braking, the piston can continue to move until the friction plate presses the brake disc.

After the brake is released, the rectangular rubber seal pushes back the piston the same distance as before wear, which remains the standard value.
