Working Principle

The YW-L series electro-hydraulic drum brake consists of components such as a brake arm, brake shoe, foundation frame, actuating lever, brake spring, and an electro-hydraulic thruster. Under normal conditions, the brake is in a closed state due to the action of the brake spring. The brake spring is located inside a square tube, and there is a scale outside the tube to display the spring force. This spring force can be adjusted by tightening the nut at the base of the spring.When the power supply is turned on, the electro-hydraulic thruster's motor is activated. Hydraulic pressure builds up in the thruster, and the piston is immediately actuated, which releases the brake. At this time, the brake shoe moves away from the brake drum, allowing the drum to rotate freely. When the power is cut off, the thruster motor stops, and the hydraulic pressure is released. The brake spring then pushes the thruster piston back, and the brake shoe clamps onto the brake drum, generating friction to achieve braking.
