YWZ8-300/E30 Spring-Applied Hydraulic-Release Drum Brake
YWZ8-300/E30 is a medium-duty electro-hydraulic drum brake for crane travel, conveyor head pulleys, portal slewing, stacker-reclaimer travel and winch front stages. It runs on a matched Ed30/5 thruster, spring-applied braking and power-on release. Cut the power and the spring locks the shoe — no air, no external hydraulics, no doubt. It carries the YWZ8 family’s interlocking equal-clearance linkage and shoe auto-aligning device, so both linings wear evenly and you stop chasing one-side drag. The brake spring sits inside the square tube with a torque scale on the side — set and read preload on site. Lining is whole card-mounted; swap the pad without dismantling the shoe.

Product Overview
YWZ8-300/E30 is a spring-applied, electro-hydraulically released drum brake. The Ed30/5 thruster builds hydraulic pressure, extends the push rod and opens the shoes against the spring. Power off → spring closes the shoes onto the 300 mm drum.
It is a service brake for deceleration and stopping in non-hazardous areas. It is not a holding-only safety brake, and not for explosive gas or dust zones - for hazardous areas use the explosion-protected version.
The YWZ8 series shares the Ed thruster interface with YWZ4B and YWZ13; YWZ8 and YWZ13 have the equal-clearance device. YWZB uses the older YT thruster and is not directly thruster-interchangeable without checking the envelope.

YWZ8-300 shares the 300 mm wheel envelope across E30 / E50 / E80:
YWZ8-300/E30 - Ed30/5 - 200–320 N·m - 65 kg
YWZ8-300/E50 - Ed50/6 - 200–550 N·m - 80 kg
YWZ8-300/E80 - Ed80/6 - 350–850 N·m - 92 kg
All three keep A500 / C160 / D300 / H610 / h1 240. Moving up torque only changes thruster and spring preload, not the foundation bolts - unless you need the bracket K=270 mm, which must be specified at order.
Before ordering, confirm: wheel diameter = 300 mm, hub width against C = 160 mm, and A / H / K envelope. If replacing YWZB (YT thruster) or very old drums, check thruster interface and shoe arc, don't assume drop-in.
